The Claitair Gallery is based in the village of Balallan in the Outer Hebridean Island of Lewis. The gallery houses the studio of Allyson, a local artist who lives in the South Lochs village of Marvig where eagles soar over the garden and local fishermen take their boats in and out of the harbour every day. From the gallery in Balallan Allyson produces artwork ranging from sketches, pen and ink drawings, water colours, acrylics and oil paintings on canvas. The paintings are all framed in the workshop on site by Neil Gow and are then displayed in the gallery. Call and visit. The gallery doesn't have set opening hours but there is usually someone around and the views from the gallery are inspiring. |
